Chalatenango is a region of artisans, painters and artists. The picturesque town of La Palma is blessed with breathtaking landscapes and an appeasing climate. Most beautifully of all, this place is notorious for having beautiful murals painted in vibrant colors, not dissimilar to other handcrafts that originated from this region. The artisans in La Palma work diligently to create crafts and murals in lively colors that adorn this beautiful town. This variability in color extends to the different fabrics worn by the people of this unique place. El Mural is a blend of coffees from two main cantons: Citalá and La Palma. Both of these are part of the Montecristo Trifinio, a tri-border national park shared between El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Designated as a biosphere reserve in 2011, it is an area of incredibly rich biodiversity.
Pax & Beneficia is proud to continue our partnership with the colorful local communities of Citalá and La Palma.
