Peru · Cusco · Anaerobic Washed

Cherry · Tropical · Honey

Grown by six women from Quechua communities in the Lacco Valley, where the Andes drop into the Amazon. Their cooperative’s Women Producers Group formed in 2022 and has quickly become a force — this lot placed using a double-fermentation anaerobic process they developed through hands-on experimentation and peer learning. Seventy-two hours sealed before pulping, another forty-eight hours wet after. In the cup you'll: Cherry right at the top, tropical fruit in the body with a honey finish that lingers.

About the Orígenes Women’s Group
The Women Producers Group of Orígenes represents 53 associated women from several communities in the Lacco Valley. Their farms span about 9.5 hectares within agroforestry systems in the Manu Biosphere Reserve — one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. Coffee has been grown here for over 50 years. The cooperative began operating in 2021, and since then farmers have increased production by an average of 10% annually with an 11% rise in income. The women’s group has been a driving force in that shift, taking on greater roles in farm management, quality decisions, and the development of differentiated lots.
